Wallis is a favourite on the high street, and a one-stop shop for smart, chic wardrobes. However, it is also a British fashion instituion - founded in 1923 it opened in Islington and by 1940 it had opened 25 shops.
This September, sees the launch oftheir 1920s inspired collection. Inspired by sketches recovered from the Wallis archives, the collection epitomises the glamourousera with feminine beading, drop waistsand delicate attention to detail. Our favourties include the gold boardwalk dress, a pink tassel dress and the grey firework embellished tunic dress. Outerwear gets the 20's feel with the cocoon drop waist coat in cream or black accessorised with a faux fur stole.
DuringOctober, the collection extends to fun of the 1960s. Pops of colour in structured fabrics create tailored pieces with a minimalist feel. My must-buyis the A-line skirt worn with a roll neck sweater. Short tunic dresses typify the mood and the ochre fur trim mohair coat is stylish and simple. Wear with chunky block stacked heels to complete the look.
There is a reason why these looks are so wearable and iconic, and Wallis has encapsulated the vibe and trend of those years. Wallis 1923 colelction available from www.wallis.co.uk and in-store.
