Become a Mills & Boon novelist!

We swooned into one anothers arms when we heard the news... our hearts raced... could it be true? It was love - pure, passionate, unbridled love. Love for an idea we had only dreamt about... A writing competition to find a new Mills and Boon author - an opportunity beyond our wildest dreams! It was all our daydreaming and fantasising had trained us for.

Launched today, Romance is Not Dead is an X-factor style competition to find a new Mills and Boon author. Aspiring novelists should submit their first chapter by October 10th, and the winner will be decided by public vote and a panel of judges (including lifelong Mills & Boon fan Jodie Prenger, above).

After submissions have been read, a shortlist of 20 writers will be announced on October 13th and assigned a mentor. After a selection process that draws on the discerning judgement of romantic fiction fans (members of the public) who can vote for their favourites, four finalists will be chosen, and announced on October 24th.

The winner, announced on November 4th 2011, will have their book published by Mills & Boon, and an editor for a year.
