Lanvin achieves the unachievable
By Carrie Gorman | Posted: Sat 01 Oct 2011
The Lanvin woman - for she is no girl - is pretty fierce for spring summer 2012. Alber Elbaz brought a renewed power to his iconic aesthetic at Paris fashion week on Friday. To a high-octane soundtrack, padded shoulders, slit seams and mosaic-effect encrusted jewels said so much about the 80s on paper, yet in reality, more about the future.
Just how did Elbaz manage to make a snake print slithering across a jumpsuit look so modern? Or slashed pencil skirts not a bit slutty? With further moves in to separates through loose trouser suits and low cowl back tops, Lanvin and its ability to flatter and empower is a label that everyone must aspire to owning a piece of.
Firm fans Julianne Moore and Kristin Scott-Thomas sat front row alongside Orlando Bloom snapping his wife Miranda Kerr in action. If that's not a crowd you want to be a part of, we don't know who is.
